- 2 cups apples, peeled and chopped (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes). Add sugar, butter, and salt. Gradually stir in flour to form a soft dough.
- Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about an hour or until doubled in size.
- Prepare the filling by mixing chopped apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle about ½ inch thick. Spread softened butter over it and sprinkle the apple mixture evenly.
- Roll tightly into a log shape; slice into equal pieces. Place them in a greased baking dish and cover to rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
