- 1 lb (450g) ground lamb or beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 medium carrots, diced
- 1 cup (150g) peas (fresh or frozen)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 lbs (900g) russet potatoes, peeled and diced
- 4 tablespoons (60g) butter
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Sauté the chopped onions and minced garlic until softened.
- Add the ground lamb or beef, diced carrots, and peas to the skillet. Cook until the meat is browned.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce along with salt and pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Boil the diced potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and mash with remaining butter and milk until smooth; season with salt and pepper.
- Layer the meat mixture in a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown on top.
