  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (110°F)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic (minced)
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar; sprinkle yeast on top. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant. Allow to cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt; mix in yeast mixture and melted butter-garlic mixture until shaggy dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Punch down the dough, divide into 12 equal pieces, and shape each into a ball. Place on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover rolls with a towel and let rise for another 30 minutes. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with additional melted butter before serving.
