  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the topping ingredients: ½ cup granulated sugar, cinnamon, and ¼ cup flour. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
  5. Mix in the sour cream until smooth. Gradually fold in the combined flour and baking powder.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle with half of the cinnamon topping. Repeat with the remaining batter and topping mixture.
  7. Bake for about 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow cooling before serving.
