  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Thyme, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 2 cups Beef Broth

Instructions

  1. Allow the prime rib roast to come to room temperature (about 1 hour). Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, parsley, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Rub the garlic herb mixture evenly over the entire roast.
  4. Place the roast in a roasting pan bone-side down and roast for 20 minutes to form a crust.
  5. Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue roasting until desired doneness is reached (approximately 1.5-2 hours for medium rare).
  6. After cooking, let the roast rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
  7. While resting, pour pan drippings into a saucepan with beef broth; simmer and strain to make au jus.
