Description

A decadent, no-bake layered dessert featuring chocolate pudding, crushed wafers, and a glossy chocolate ganache topping, styled to look like a spooky graveyard.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold whole milk
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • 2 packages (14 oz each) chocolate wafer cookies
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 package Milano cookies (for tombstones)

Instructions

  1. Whisk the instant chocolate pudding mix with 3 cups of cold milk in a medium bowl until thickened and smooth.
  2. Gently fold the whipped topping into the pudding using a rubber spatula until fully combined.
  3. Crush 1.5 packages of chocolate wafers into a mix of fine crumbs and small chunks.
  4. Press a layer of crushed wafers into the bottom of a 9×13 inch glass baking dish.
  5. Spread the pudding mixture evenly over the base layer of cookies.
  6. Top the pudding with the remaining crushed chocolate wafers to create the soil effect.
  7. Heat heavy cream in a small saucepan until simmering, then pour over chopped chocolate and butter.
  8. Let the ganache sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy.
  9. Drizzle the ganache over the top of the cookies in a patchy, muddy pattern.
  10. Press Milano cookies vertically into the filling to create tombstones.
  11. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
