Description

Savory ground beef and melted Monterey Jack cheese pressed between flour tortillas and seared in butter for a crispy, golden-brown finish.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 8 medium flour tortillas
  • 3 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in taco seasoning and 2 tablespoons of water; simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  3. Heat a clean skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
  4. Place one tortilla in the pan, cover with a layer of cheese, and add beef to one half.
  5. Fold the tortilla in half and press down with a spatula.
  6. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until the crust is golden brown and cheese is melted.
  7. Repeat for remaining tortillas, slice into wedges, and serve.
