Description

A rich and creamy twist on a Russian classic using ground beef for a budget-friendly, fast, and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • 12 oz wide egg noodles, cooked

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  2. Add butter to the skillet, then stir in diced onions and sliced mushrooms. Sauté until the mushrooms are golden brown.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 60 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the meat and vegetables, stirring constantly for 2 minutes to cook out the raw flour taste.
  5. Slowly pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Remove skillet from heat. Fold in sour cream until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  7. Season with salt and pepper, then serve over cooked egg noodles and garnish with fresh parsley.
