- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup long grain white rice, rinsed
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil (if needed)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked, then remove excess grease if necessary.
- Add diced onion to the pan and sauté until translucent, then stir in minced garlic for 60 seconds.
- Stir in the rinsed rice and toast for 2-3 minutes until the edges are translucent.
- Mix in tomato paste and dried oregano, stirring to coat the rice and beef.
- Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping the bottom of the pan to release browned bits.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover with a tight lid, and simmer for 15-18 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork and garnishing with parsley.
