Description

A savory one-pan meal combining browned ground beef and toasted long-grain rice infused with beef broth and aromatics.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup long grain white rice, rinsed
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (if needed)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked, then remove excess grease if necessary.
  2. Add diced onion to the pan and sauté until translucent, then stir in minced garlic for 60 seconds.
  3. Stir in the rinsed rice and toast for 2-3 minutes until the edges are translucent.
  4. Mix in tomato paste and dried oregano, stirring to coat the rice and beef.
  5. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping the bottom of the pan to release browned bits.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover with a tight lid, and simmer for 15-18 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork and garnishing with parsley.
