- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs, room temperature

- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 8-inch cake pans.
- Cream butter and sugar together until pale and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time.
- Whisk together cake flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Alternately add dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with flour.
- Divide batter into pans and bake for 30 minutes.
- Cool cakes completely on a wire rack.
- Frost with buttercream and decorate with fresh flowers or berries.
