- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 1/2 cups cake flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F and prep two 8-inch pans.
- Cream butter and sugar for 5 minutes until fluffy.
- Add eggs one by one, beating well after each.
- Stir in vanilla extract and sour cream.
- Sift in cake flour and baking powder in three parts.
- Mix on low speed until just combined.
- Divide batter into pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
